uh oh, bad Amy

So I think I am taking this "I only have two days left to eat crap" a little too far. Haven't cooked in two days. I'm about to eat pizza at 9pm at night and I am going to have a Coke with it. BAD AMY!!! I know I know! But I am seriously giving up fast food and pop for a whole year! ugh! I'm also going to only eat pizza once a month on my one day a week of eating out. I will call it my evil food day! Pizza has around 400 calories a slice. Holy crap batman that's horrible!!! (I know I am a giant nerd) I usually eat 4 slices. 1600 Calories in one meal. Add the pop and that is way over my daily allowance of calories. Well I am doing that tonight! Pizza may be scrumtrulecent but it is horrible for you! Papa Murphys has a delight pizza which is a lot better for you but you end up eating more to get full because its so thin. Anyways this is just a quick ramble of how bad I am being tonight. And tomorrow is New years eve! Lots of calories in liquor...I will just have to drink water after midnight :-) If I stop fast food and pop and the world comes to an end around the end of 2012 and I lose a bunch of weight I am just going to be really pissed off....just sayin'

Digging Worms

So I am going to share one of my favorite stories to tell people about my brother and I when I was a kid.

My brother and I have a pretty comical relationship. Every time our family gets together Aaron and I argue about how perfect he was as a child and how evil I was. As you can see from the pictures we were very close and nice to each other at a very young age. When I turned about 7 and he was 13 we didn't get along as well. Not anything horrible just sibling rivalry. I must admit I probably wasn't the easiest little sister to live with because of our mother always agreeing with me... But I think I was pretty damn nice to him compared to how he explains Anyways...

There were only a few times in my life that my brother was aloud to watch me while my mom and dad went somewhere. He was pretty obsessed with MTV at the time and I was obsessed with My Little Pony's. According to him he would be watching it and I would want to watch my show and I always got my way. I don't necessarily agree completely. Part of me thinks part of him enjoyed watching My Little Pony's! lol probably not but I like to think so. He does know the theme song now! So anyways he was watching me and my friend Jaimee and the second our parents left he somehow got us to go out back. Probably told us he saw a horse back there or something and we believed him. We were obsessed with horses! He then locked us out. In the rain. Without jackets. We banged on the back door and he told us if we dug up enough worms for him to go fishing with then he would let us back in. He wasn't going fishing. He wanted to watch MTV! Terd. We dug and dug and dug. We would bring the bucket to the door and he would yell I need more! This went on for about two hours until my mom called and said they were on there way home. No cell phones at that time so he knew he had a little time to try and not get ratted out. He let us back in, gave us towels and put My Little Pony's on! Can't really remember if it worked out for him but I don't remember him ever watching us again! lol! We probably told on him...As horrible as it was it is one of my favorite memories.

Our parents divorced when I was 11 and Aaron was a Junior in High School. He ended up staying with Dad and I moved with my mom to Eugene, Oregon. It was really hard being away from my brother but it actually made us closer. We still argued like siblings but we would appreciate seeing each other more.

I have several more fun stories I will add randomly on here but my main focus will be my weight loss Journey. Which I am sucking at until Sunday. I won't be eating fast food or drinking pop for a year so I am drinking pop everyday until Sunday! But just one a day so not too horrible! lol!

Taking my own advice...

Alrighty so first I must say that I suck at taking my own advice. I am technically starting my diet and walking on Sunday so I have been eating and drinking whatever I want. Probably a bad idea since I got super duper sick today. That's right super duper! Not even sure if that's how its spelled! So starting Sunday I will be blogging everything I eat, everything I drink, and how many hours I sit on my butt and how much exercise I am getting. I will also be calorie counting which is super craptacular but it really helps. You don't realize how many unnecessary calories you eat. For the first week I am going to eat small meals and snacks every two hours. Never getting full. Its going to suck for the first week but the starving feeling will go away with time. I need to shrink down my stomach. Also I am going to drink a LOT of water. I LOVE Crystal Light! I am not a huge fan of just plain water so Crystal Light really helps me. I really like the energy ones because it keeps me moving. Anyways I am not going to go super into this because I am super tired. I am also going to start randomly blogging about my brother a little bit. First I will tell the worm digging story tomorrow.

Real quick one more tip from my brother is to not eat after 7pm. He said even better to not eat after 6. This was a big one he reiterated to me several times! If your like me and you stay up super late you might get super hungry at some point. Eat negative calorie foods. Like Celery. Celery is not yummy but it actually burns more calories to eat it than what your getting from it....does that make sense? Anyways another good one is Greek Yogurt. It's not negative calories but its really good for you. Eat some Greek yogurt if you get hungry. It is super awesometastic.

Aarons weight loss tips!

First and most importantly. Always keep moving. Crap I have already screwed that one up by sitting here blogging! lol! Anyways if your going to watch tv or sit at the computer limit yourself to a couple hours total a day. That mean if your big into television shows like me than your going to need to stand up and pace or something. Lol also sitting on a stability ball instead of a couch will force you to work your core instead of slouching on a couch. Keeping good posture can help you lose weight! My posture is craptacular! So I will start sitting on the ball! Spread out your two hrs throughout the day. If you have a show/shows you watch that day then save your hours for that. Get on the computer several separate times a day but make sure its no longer than 30 min at a time. If your obsessed with twitter like I am now than look at it on your phone while you pace! lol!

Second Aaron tip. Quit eating fast food!!! I quit for a year once. I felt so much better! But I have been doing horrible in the past few months because I have been so busy that it is just easier than cooking sometimes. I have gained 15lbs in 2 months just from eating out 2 times a week...that is horrible. You have no idea how much my brother lectures me about fast food. As of January first I am done with fast food. what do I eat when I don't feel like cooking? Well go to a restaurant that you can't drive through and get something. Only eat half of it! Save the rest for the next day. Huge key is portions. The first week you will feel ripped off that you are not full and you will feel like your starving. Your not. You will be just fine. Good tip is to ask for your togo container at the restaurant right after you get your food. Scoop out half into the to go container and force yourself not to open it till the next day! Keep in mind I am mixing my brothers advise with some of my own. I lost 40lbs about 8 years ago from some of these tips I am giving. But the not eating fast food is my brothers biggest tip! He won't touch it. Mainly because he thinks that all the food is fake. Probably true but it tastes good...but if you check the calorie content on that crap its horrible.

Cut down your pop/soda (its pop for argument sake) Only have 1 a week! ONE! You can lose 10lbs just from not drinking pop. Start drinking it comes that 10lbs back!

Walk, Walk, Walk!!!!!! That's how Aaron loses most of his weight. That man doesn't run or ride a bike he walks everywhere. I am going to have my husband drop me off about a mile or more away from home and walk the rest of the way. I live in Oregon so I might get wet....but owell! If you don't like walking outside in the rain. Go to the mall. Get there early with the old ladies walking the mall. I've done it. Its quiet and I just walked back and forth. I might look crazy but who gives a spit! I don't. Stop caring what people think of you. Lose weight because you will feel so much better about yourself and you will have so much more energy!

Stop getting crazy coffee drinks! Aaron lost a ton from not getting latte's and Mochas anymore. he gets coffee black with 1-2 sugars. No creamer. This one is easier for me because I LOVE black coffee. I don't even put the sugars in mine. The hardest part for some people is the no creamer. If your going to only put one little packet in. Try to drink it black, u will get used to it. Black coffee boost your metabolism! Drink it all day long if you want and you will lose and lose! if its black... I like iced black coffee! My favorite! Green tea is also awesome for you and your metabolism. You have to find ways to boost your metabolism especially if your over 27 because it has slowed down so much. That's why a lot of people don't get results till after a few weeks.

Don't expect to lose like they do on the biggest loser. They workout like over 5 hrs a day! I would be super skinny if I did that! It will take time! DON'T give up!

*keep moving!!! Only sit a couple hours a day!
*NO FAST FOOD! Except subway but I am not a fan...
*1 pop a week! pop pop pop 1. Not A giant big gulp either! A 20oz or a glass at a restaurant.
*Walk, Walk, Walk
*black coffee!!! Or green tea! If you go to starbucks get an iced green tea with two pumps. It is amazing! Has a little bit of sugar but way better than creamer! Or iced black tea two pumps is good too.
*Almost forgot. Pick ONE day a week to eat whatever you want. Even the horrid fast food. Stick to only that One day! When you want to cheat think about that one day! Don't overstuff that one day but eat whatever you want as long as your not overfilling your belly!

My first Blog!

Alright so I have never blogged before. I really feel like if I post my journey and share with everyone what I am doing and eating then I will stick to it and not cheat. I'm a little concerned with the fact that it is not checking my spelling...So like my brother I can't spell very well. I am better at it than him but still not very good. lol. Anyways some of this may be embarrassing to me because I will be posting pictures. Nothing but my gaining weight embarrasses me. but my hope is to lose 20lbs by my 30th bday...March 3rd...Don't have much time but I am going to try my hardest. I really want other people to be inspired by this so if I can get any of my other twitter followers to do this I will follow there blog and help with moral support. My brother lost a ton of weight just by cutting things out and walking. I don't think my brother has worked out since high school if even then. He has lost a ton of weight and it really bothers him and our family that there are rumors out there that his weight loss is from drugs. He is not a tweaker I promise you that! I know his secrets to weight loss and it will just take dedication. If anyone else does this with me I will show him all your blogs the next time he comes to visit me. Unless you don't want me to. lol. I am a huge fan of Biggest loser and I feel like if a 500lb man can do it than anyone can! My brother has really inspired me in the last year to take Big Steps in my life and this will be one of them. He has been pushing me since I was little with my art but I always thought it wasn't good enough to make a living from. A year ago my brother pushed me to start my photography and its finally going somewhere. But my biggest step will be to start painting and drawing again. He has always believed in my art and I really want to show him that I can get it going. I will make a separate blog about my art and post some old drawings and painting sometime next week.
